Aviation crisis: Airline chiefs to meet PM

CEOs of the airlines are meeting the Prime Minister today to discuss measures to overcome the crisis facing them. On the table for discussion at the conclave is the proposal to allow 26 percent FDI in domestic airlines and also prohibitively high rates of tax on aviation fuel and operations. The proposed conclave comes after the Prime Minister called on all leaders of the airlines for a discussion. The government is also trying to tinker able to help cash-strapped carriers and solve industry problems.
